You’ll learn approachable watercolour techniques for painting landscapes\, buildings\, and everyday scenes\, with guidance on composition\, colour\, and how to suggest detail simply and confidently. \nYou’ll be encouraged to interpret your scene in your own way—whether that’s loose and sketchy\, expressive and atmospheric\, or a little more detailed. \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Whether you’re inspired by holidays\, city breaks\, or places closer to home\, you’ll leave with your painted postcard\, an Introduction to Watercolour booklet\, and the skills to continue capturing places you love in watercolour. \nMost participants will complete at least one finished postcard during the workshop\, ready to frame\, send\, gift\, or keep as a personal souvenir. \nWe’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room\, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket. \nAll materials are provided (or feel free to bring your own). Players of all ages and abilities are welcome. There’s always laughter and quite often the chance for a social drink afterwards if you feel like it!

DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Art Group meets monthly on Wednesdays in St Paul’s Church Hall\, Greenway Lane\, Chippenham. It’s led by artist Fran Young and organised by our experienced community services coordinator Pam Ollis. \nProjects ranging from painting and drawing to collage\, printing\, crafts\, clay modelling and more. We work at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for conversation and connection. No previous experience of art is necessary and everyone works at their own pace. DESCRIPTION:Walking Hockey is exactly as the name suggests – you play Hockey while walking – and is perfect for players who are looking for a less physically demanding version of the sport\, but still enjoy participating\, showing their skills and being involved in the team and social aspect of the sport. \nThe game is played on a smaller pitch with lighter balls and rules adapted for safety and accessibility. \nWe operate a weekly social mixed game at 6pm on Monday evenings all year round. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome. There’s always laughter and quite often the chance for a social drink afterwards if you feel like it!

DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Art Group meets monthly on Wednesdays in St Paul’s Church Hall\, Greenway Lane\, Chippenham. It’s led by artist Fran Young and organised by our experienced community services coordinator Pam Ollis. \nProjects ranging from painting and drawing to collage\, printing\, crafts\, clay modelling and more. We work at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for conversation and connection. No previous experience of art is necessary and everyone works at their own pace. Powered by a near silent electric motor\, cruise down the canal and see if you can spot Kingfishers\, Heron or even an Otter! \nFind out about our Meadow Creation/ Habitat Management Work. with talks/ demonstrations/ tours from the ‘Green Team’\, starting at Double Bridge at 11:00 and 14:30. \nInterested in getting a close-up look at our restoration work? Our Work Part Organisers will be taking small groups on Work-site tours from 10:00\, explaining our current work and future plans. \n(NB: For the above tours\, please wear suitable footwear as the ground can be uneven and possibly wet and muddy in places [e.g. no flipflops]). \nAnd of course our popular Pop-up Café will be open from 10:00with tea\, coffee\, soft drinks and cakes available. \nWater levels and weather permitting\, we hope to run our Pewsham Locks Open days for 2026 on the second Saturday of each month\, from April to October.

DESCRIPTION:Walking Hockey is exactly as the name suggests – you play Hockey while walking – and is perfect for players who are looking for a less physically demanding version of the sport\, but still enjoy participating\, showing their skills and being involved in the team and social aspect of the sport. \nThe game is played on a smaller pitch with lighter balls and rules adapted for safety and accessibility. \nWe operate a weekly social mixed game at 6pm on Monday evenings all year round. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome. There’s always laughter and quite often the chance for a social drink afterwards if you feel like it!
