DESCRIPTION:Love to sing? Want to make friends? Come along to Pewsham Community Centre Tuesdays between 1.30-3.30pm. Taken by the wonderful Matt Finch. It’s all about having fun and singing in the afternoon! \nMatt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons.  Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group\, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past.  All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt’s very special arrangements\, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue. \nA warm welcome awaits any new members\, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome!  There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal.   Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you.  You will be joining over 1\,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond! \nMembership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal.  The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire\, music\, admin and musician fees.  You do not need to join at the start of a term\, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. \nIf you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin via email gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468. \n

DESCRIPTION:‘The most fun I have all week – I haven’t laughed so much in ages’ \nAlternate Monday’s at the Cause Arts Centre 7-9pm \nImprovisation Workshops delivered by Laura. \nIf you’re interested but not sure what it is – just come and watch a session and have a cup of tea! \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like ‘Who’s line is it anyway’ if you’re old enough to remember that! \nIf you have always wanted to try some drama\, but are not sure that you want to commit\, just pop in and do the bits that you want to\, or just come and watch a session. We’d love you to join us – and can guarantee that you’ll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way. \n\nBasic introduction\, get to know each other\, ground rules for improv and how to let your brain avoid filtering (too much)\nIntroduction to creating characters to use in scenes – emphasis on the physical. Levels of performance style – 1-10\nFurther character development – using the voice to compliment the physical. Tone\, pitch\, accent. Introducing costume for characters.\nHow to respond to offers and add value to a scene. Can we develop a plot using the people that we have found?\nWhat do we need to do to become more believable? What clues can other actors give each other when in an improvised scene?\nFeedback – audience to watch. DESCRIPTION:Open Monday – Saturday\, 10am – 4pm\, until 8 March. \nThis exhibition is the fourth in Chippenham Museum’s Spotlight series dedicated to its growing Modern and Contemporary Art Collection. \nThe project began in 2019 with the desire to celebrate the rich artistic history of this part of North Wiltshire. DESCRIPTION:The Birth Network North Wiltshire’s baby show is an opportunity for parents of babies and toddlers\, as well as expectant parents\, to find out about a huge range of local bump\, birth and baby related organisations and services. \nThe show is free to attend and you are welcome to bring along children of any age. \nThere is no need to book in advance. You can simply turn up anytime between 10am and 1pm. \nThe first 50 attendees will get a free goody bag. (Couples and families count as one attendee for goody bag purposes!) \nGolden Tickets will be randomly hidden in 5 of the goody bags\, meaning that if you arrive early enough to get a goody bag\, you’ll be in with a 1 in 10 chance of finding one. \nEach Golden Ticket will have the name of a stand holder on it. If you present this to the stand holder named on the ticket\, they will give you a prize. The prizes are all different\, but each one is worth at least £10.

DESCRIPTION:Digital Champions Co-Creation Working Group \nHere at the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre in Chippenham we care for many and varied collections about life in Wiltshire\, past and present. Accessibility and inclusion are important to us and we are continually working to improve the accessibility of our services and access to our collections both online and in person. \nWe are setting up a co-creation working group to improve how you can access and navigate our website and services\, ensuring they work better for everyone. \nThrough regular online workshops\, you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences\, test new ideas\, and directly influence changes to make WSHC’s digital space more intuitive\, easy to use and accessible. \nWe want to ensure that everyone who is interested in joining the group is able to do so. Please let us know about any access needs you may have\, and we will work with you to ensure these are not a barrier to your involvement. DESCRIPTION:We’re SO excited to be welcoming lots of new pupils\, tutors\, and schools to Little Voices this year – 2025 is going to be BIGGER and better than ever! \nWe have recently launched at Pewsham Community Centre on Tuesdays\, term time and have a selection of lessons available for ages 4-18yrs (school age) \nWe would love to welcome you along to join us for a free trial lesson\, and for us to be a big part of Pewsham community – helping children find their voices\, learn new skills and make new friends\, having fun along the way. \nHoliday workshops may be in the offing too if weekly lessons don’t suit your current timetables.

SUMMARY:Chippenham & Caine Good Afternoon Choir
DESCRIPTION:Love to sing? Want to make friends? Come along to Pewsham Community Centre Tuesdays between 1.30-3.30pm. Taken by the wonderful Matt Finch. It’s all about having fun and singing in the afternoon! \nMatt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons.  Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group\, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past.  All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt’s very special arrangements\, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue. \nA warm welcome awaits any new members\, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome!  There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal.   Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you.  You will be joining over 1\,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond! \nMembership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal.  The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire\, music\, admin and musician fees.  You do not need to join at the start of a term\, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. \nIf you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin via email gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468. \n
