DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Film Club screens monthly award-winning films at the Reel Cinema in town. You do not need to be a member to attend the club screenings\, but an annual membership gives a 35% discount for all screenings. \nFor August 2026 our film is ‘Christy’\, which is a 2025 Irish coming-of-age drama about a 17-year-old navigating foster care and reconnecting with his estranged half-brother in Cork. Directed by Brendan Canty and written by Alan O’Gorman\, Christy is inspired by Canty’s 2019 short film of the same name. The feature-length debut stars Danny Power as Christy and Diarmuid Noyes as his half-brother Shane\, with Emma Willis\, Alison Oliver\, Chris Walley\, and Helen Behan in supporting roles.\nThe film is set in Knocknaheeny\, a working-class area of Cork\, Ireland\, and explores themes of family\, trauma\, and community resilience.

Her hand-built pieces are layered with intricate decoration and represent her thoughts\, feelings\, or ideas\, which often mirror events personal to her or part of our collective experience. \nGuy Bigland studied Fine Art at Bath College of Higher Education\, returning to complete his Masters at Bath Spa University. Our Work Part Organisers will be taking small groups on Work-site tours from 10:00\, explaining our current work and future plans. \n(NB: For the above tours\, please wear suitable footwear as the ground can be uneven and possibly wet and muddy in places [e.g. no flipflops]). \nAnd of course our popular Pop-up Café will be open from 10:00with tea\, coffee\, soft drinks and cakes available. \nWater levels and weather permitting\, we hope to run our Pewsham Locks Open days for 2026 on the second Saturday of each month\, from April to October.
