SUMMARY:Spotlight On: Modern & Contemporary Art from the Collection of Chippenham Museum
DESCRIPTION:The second part of Chippenham Museum’s exhibition series celebrating North Wiltshire’s creativity\, Spotlight On features 40 works by local artists. Open Monday to Saturday with free entry\, visitors can drop-in 10am to 1pm or book a free timed ticket at 1pm\, 2pm or 3pm to enjoy sole use of the museum. \nThe collection has been acquired by the museum in the past five years to ensure our collection better represents the amazing artistic talent found in this area. The exhibition includes paintings\, sculpture\, ceramics and photography; almost all of which are on display for the first time and have been donated to the museum by the artists. \nVisitors to John Coles Park and Monkton Park can spot ten images of the exhibition’s artworks on trees with trail Art Outdoors\, sponsored by The Kington Langley Arts Society. DESCRIPTION:“Alright\, that’s right\, that’s right\, that’s right\, that’s right” groove along to the room that is Zoom\, to meet up with our main man\, Marius\, for an evening of loud beats and soft sounds that reached each end of the spectrum during the decade of big hair\, peace\, love\, flares\, and platforms. \nAllsorts Community choir invite you to join us from the comfort of your own home\, for this free event – a trippin’ evening of songs from the seventies. Costumes are welcome\, as are any photos you wish to share to reminisce of your seventies experience… even if they’re baby photos or fancy dress. \nAllsorts choir is for all sorts of people. We have fun singing and have enjoyed keeping ourselves entertained online each week\, but have missed performing\, so Marius came up with the idea to open up a session for friends and family\, and friends of those friends and family\, to join us for an occasional themed evening and as the previous two events were such a success\, we figured another would be just as groovy man! \nDon’t forget to share\, share\, share\, and join us for this love-in. SUMMARY:Classic Car Run
DESCRIPTION:Rotary Rovers Return – The return of the native classic car run! \nBetween 8am and 9.30am on Sunday 23rd May one hundred Classic Cars will meet and drive off from Calne Leisure Centre Car park. The Calne Lions will provide breakfast butties as drivers set off on a fascinating 70 mile run through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. \nThere is to be an interesting stop at Middlewick House with the drive finishing at Casterley Barn near Pewsey.  Further support on the day will be provided by Rotarians and a great team of volunteers\, the event will be a true community effort. \nThe car run features VIP Teddy Bears and much loved dogs in some of the cars. Half the proceeds will go to The Bobby Van Trust and the remainder to Rotary charities.  The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust is a local charity specialising in providing home security improvements\, fire protection equipment and advice to victims of crime\, the elderly and disadvantaged. \nFor the first time the event is being hosted by The Chippenham Rotary Club.
