DESCRIPTION:2020 marked 150 years since the Rev. Francis Kilvert first began his diaries\, now enjoyed across the globe for their enchanting accounts of rural life in Victorian Britain. \nBorn in Chippenham\, Kilvert went on to be curate for his father in Langley Burrell. Explore the shades of Kilvert’s world and the local area through his diary entries. \nFeaturing two of the three surviving manuscripts\, on loan from The National Library of Wales\, Aberystwyth. \nChippenham Museum is a free entry Chippenham Town Council facility. Open 10am – 4pm Monday to Saturday\, visits are drop-in with no need to book.

SUMMARY:Make a Silver & Copper Autumn Leaf Necklace
DESCRIPTION:Master traditional silver smithing techniques to make your own autumn leaf necklace with Chippenham based designer-maker Barking Hen Jewellery. Inspired by nature\, you will make a copper leaf and silver leaf to hang from a silver chain provided. You will be taught how to design\, saw\, file and shape\, silver solder and texture or polish your pendant. \nThis workshop is designed for beginners and is taught in a small group. All materials\, tools and equipment are provided including a silver chain. Refreshments will be available throughout the day; please do bring a packed lunch. \n  \nBarking Hen Jewellery is a Chippenham based business developed by jewellery designer Tamara. With over 25 years of experience\, Tamara uses traditional silver smith techniques partnered with a flair for the unusual to create designs inspired by the British countryside.
