His winner’s concert will be a varied programme of music across both piano and guitar\, as well as his voice as he showcases some of his own compositions\, classical works and cover songs. Gabriel is from Devizes but attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is now studying Music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. \nThe venue in Chippenham was chosen ​because of its stunning ​grand piano and full size organ\, which Gabriel ​is looking forward to trying out especially for us.

DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Rural Music are proud to present our 2022 Liz Laurence Award Winner GABRIEL LONGBOTHAM on Saturday 29th July at The Cause\, Chippenham. \n“An evening of beautiful\, soulful music showcasing Devizes’ finest young talent – the incredible Gabriel Longbotham” \nGabriel is a 19 year old pianist\, organist and songwriter from Devizes. He attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is currently studying music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. He won our Liz Lawrence Award last April after wowing the judges with his talent on piano. \nAs a Wiltshire based charity\, WRM aims to provide young people with access to music without the barrier of cost. Gabriel received bursaries from WRM to assist him in his musical studies\, and\, as a result of support from this scheme\, he achieved his Grade 8. \nThe Liz Laurence Award consists of a £1\,000 prize which was presented by the Mayor of Devizes\, but also the chance to perform a one off hometown gig with the charity’s help.
