You’ll learn how to look closely at leaves\, stems\, flowers\, and seed heads\, and translate what you see into a clear\, elegant watercolour illustration. \nWe’ll explore approachable techniques for drawing and painting botanical subjects\, with guidance on line\, shape\, proportion\, and colour. You’ll learn how to layer washes\, add fine details\, and create an illustration that feels both delicate and confident – perfect for capturing the character of a plant without needing scientific precision. \nThere will be a selection of plant and botanical reference images on the table\, and you’re welcome to bring a favourite leaf or flower of your own to paint. You can work at your own pace\, with as much or as little guidance as you’d like. \nThis workshop is beginner-friendly and low-pressure\, designed to be enjoyable and encouraging rather than technical or intimidating. By the end of the session\, you’ll have your own finished botanical illustration to frame\, gift\, or keep\, along with an Introduction to Watercolour booklet to help you continue exploring watercolour painting at home. \nWe’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room\, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket. \nAll materials are provided (or feel free to bring your own favourites)\, and no prior drawing experience is needed – just curiosity\, a love of nature\, and a willingness to experiment!

DESCRIPTION:Join me for a relaxing and creative afternoon of painting beautiful summer flowers in watercolour! 💐 \nSaturday 5th July\, 3-5pm\nGrounded Café\, Chippenham\n£35 per person \nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn the techniques of watercolour painting while capturing the vibrant colours of seasonal blooms. \nI’ll guide you step-by-step in creating your own floral painting\, which you’ll take away with you along with a booklet of tips to help you continue painting should you wish. \nMaterials\, equipment and fresh flowers will be provided. All are welcome\, whether you’re an art enthusiast or have never picked up a paintbrush before! \nYou don’t need to bring anything with you\, though if you have any favourite flowers or something in mind that you’d like to paint\, you’re welcome to bring a picture to use as a reference or your own flowers. \nWe’ll have exclusive use of Grounded’s upper floor and one complimentary drink will be included with your workshop ticket.
