She has worked in TV and Film industry for over seven years\, on films\, commercials\, music videos\, feature films and short films\, and her work has led to nominations and awards for Best FX. \nIn this session you will go behind the scenes for both stage and screen and what it takes to make someone look a bit battered and beaten up. Get completely hands on with a variety of bruises and burns as well as textured cuts and even severed digits.

In this session you will learn through a variety of fun\, accessible and constructively challenging games and activities with the addition of professionally trained stage combat skills and techniques for anyone to master. \nSession 1: 10 – 12pm\nPizza (provided) from: 12 – 1pm\nSession 2: 1-3pm \nThe founder of Brazen Steel\, and a core member of the teaching team at Rebel Action\, Rebecca has spent time instructing at the Royal Shakespeare Company\, LAMDA and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Rebecca is nearing the end of her stage combat instructor apprenticeship with the Academy of Performance Combat\, and has helped to guide a plethora of students from their first taste of combat to daring fight scenes and everything in between.

Whether you have already tried acting or directing\, or whether you just want to give it a go\, all levels of experience are welcome. \nWarm up and get to know each other from 11am; free pizza at 12pm; masterclass from 1pm \nMarnie is a professional Theatre Director\, Writer and Storyteller. Having trained in Body Aware\, Mask\, Japanese and Chinese Theatre\, as an actor and director\, Marnie uses the body and text to tell a story. She uses her work in the Arts as a Creative Facilitator and has worked for Theatres throughout the British Isles – Salisbury Playhouse\, The Everyman\, Cheltenham and The Roses Tewkesbury. She has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Prime Theatre. Directing and using drama skills is part of what she does and her work with RADA has been used for communication and confidence projects. \nYou will gain experience of professional working methods and tools to use in your own acting work.

DESCRIPTION:We’re very excited about this brand new project: TELL YOUR STORY! \nBut we need a creative committee to help us steer the next two years and it’s totally FREE – there’s even pizza thrown in for lunch. \nWE CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU! \nDo you want to meet graffiti artists\, breakdancers\, rappers\, poets\, musicians\, writers\, dancers\, set designers\, producers or someone else come along and work with you? Then tell us! \nWorking in collaboration with Ruth Hill of Knapsack Productions\, The RISE Trust and Riverbank Studios\, Chippenham to give creative opportunities to young people in Chippenham. We’ll also be bringing in a ​whole new bunch of creative arts professionals to work with you. ​Who they are is totally up to you! \nAll made possible by funding from the Million Hours Fund.
