DESCRIPTION:In our next Collection Conversation\, we will be joined by Jane King and Judith Beeby. \nJane King studied for her Masters in ceramics at Bath Spa University’s Corsham Court Campus. King’s ceramic sculptures combine opposites of form\, texture\, and colour as metaphors for perfection and imperfection\, control and chaos. \nJudith Beeby studied at Bath Spa University. Living in Wiltshire she is continually inspired by its beauty. Her most recent work is inspired by the encroachment of urban and industrial elements into the rural environment. She is fascinated by the debate about man vs nature and the soft beauty of an English landscape being enhanced by strong industrial shapes.

DESCRIPTION:Experience our fashion-themed drop-in activities in a quieter way before the museum opens to the public. Sessions run from 9am-10am (last entry 9.45am) and are limited to four accompanied children. \nIdeal for those who would find the busy nature of our drop-in sessions uncomfortable\, these sessions offer a relaxed environment. Please book a space for each accompanied child attending. \nPlease note\, activities on Tuesday and Thursday will be the same each week. \nWeek 1: Setting the Style \nWhy do we wear what we wear? From simple and practical to colourful and detailed\, create your own designs to mix and match for a paper person.

DESCRIPTION:In June’s Collection Conversation\, we will be joined by Nigel Goldsmith and Chloe Yandell. \nNigel Goldsmith studied his Masters in fine art at Bath Spa University. Goldsmith’s videos employ some of the visual and aural strategies used in advertising in an attempt to mesmerise the viewer\, presenting a subject that is overwhelming in scale yet engaging to watch. \nChloe Yandell also studied at Bath Spa University. She works out of her studio in Corsham\, taking inspiration from her local environment\, memories and materials.
