SUMMARY:Chippenham Harriers River & Fun Runs
DESCRIPTION:A family friendly\, summer evening 5k race and 2k fun run\, held each year in early July in Monkton Park. This year it’s Wednesday the 3rd July. \nThere are two routes to choose from\, namely a full 5k route and a shorter 2k route (fun run). \nThe 5k River Run and 2k Fun Run follow a largely traffic free multi-terrain route along the banks of the River Avon\, starting and finishing in Monkton Park\, near the Olympiad Leisure Centre. There is a mixture of compacted field/grass\, gravel and paved road/path. \nThe River Run is a great community event which attracts people of all abilities and ages. The 5k distance means that it is ideal for the beginners and the inclusion of the Fun Run makes it the perfect summer evening event for families. The 5k is open to anyone aged 13 and over and the Fun Run is for 4 – 14 year olds. \nPrizes in age categories for both races. All Fun Run finishers receive a medal. \nTypical start times are Fun Run at 6:30pm and River Run at 7.30pm. Registration is normally 60 minutes prior to the first race (5:30pm). \nRace start is at Olympiad Leisure Centre\, Chippenham\, Wiltshire\, SN15 3PA

DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team are back again in Island Park with a Zip-wire experience as part of the Teen Takeover on Saturday 27th April. \nCome to Island Park (between old Wilkos and the Olympiad\, SN15 3JP) and experience the 60 metre long zip-wire for FREE. Starting at 11 metres high it’s a chance to experience something totally different in Chippenham! \nThe Zip-line will be open between 10am and 3pm. To avoid disappointment\, please book your place on one of the 30 minute sessions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWiltshire Outdoor Learning Team (WOLT) are a not-for-profit organisation delivering outdoor learning activities across Wiltshire with sessions designed to challenge\, develop\, educate and make the outdoors enjoyable. Meet: 8:50am at the Multi-use Games Area in Monkton Park \nThe course is run on a mixture of trail paths\, tarmac paths and gravel paths. DESCRIPTION:Parkrun is a free\, community event where you can walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. The course is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning in Monkton Park at 9am. Junior parkrun is 2k\, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families\, every Sunday morning. \nWalking or running is simple\, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active\, lose weight and become healthier. Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise\, walking briskly can help you build stamina\, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier. Spending time in nature can reduce anxiety and improve your mood while physical activity is known to reduce your risk of diabetes\, depression\, dementia and cardiovascular diseases. \nWhy not give Parkrun a try – the course goes through Monkton Park and follows the river on a mixture of trail paths\, tarmac paths and gravel paths. Parkrun is positive\, welcoming and inclusive\, there is no time limit and no one finishes last.
