DESCRIPTION:An early play\, ‘Two Gentlemen of Verona’ has feisty heroines\, lovelorn & bickering young men\, dictatorial parents\, foolish suitors\, cross-dressing\, letters galore\, wild outlaws\, witty servants\, a big fight\, and a lugubrious clown with a dog.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShakespeare Live\, best known for over 30 years of outdoor productions in Wiltshire\, have been touring their popular annual autumn show for several years\, focusing on plays less often performed or on original Shakespeare-based pieces. This year\, as often before the pandemic\, we are proud that the production was picked by the RSC for performance at their open-air Dell space in Stratford upon Avon in August. Directed by Gill Morrell. featuring well-known Shakespeare Live actors together with some talented newcomers\, including Bernard the golden retriever\, and featuring fabulous medieval costumes and live original music\, Shakespeare Live promises ninety minutes of fast\, furious\, and very\, very funny entertainment.\n\n\n\n\nTickets bookable here.

Join in or come and see. \n2 – 3pm Choir free workshop. What is it like to sing in a community choir? What is it like to sing in a world music choir? Do you like singing but don’t know where to begin? DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Rural Music are proud to present the 2022 Liz Lawrence Young Musician’s Award winner Gabriel Longbotham. \nGabriel was one of our Bursary students\, specialising in the organ and chose piano as his instrument to audition for this prestigious award. His winner’s concert will be a varied programme of music across both piano and guitar\, as well as his voice as he showcases some of his own compositions\, classical works and cover songs. Gabriel attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is now studying Music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. The venue in Chippenham was chosen ​because of its stunning ​grand piano and full size organ\, which Gabriel ​is looking forward to trying out especially for us.

DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Rural Music are proud to present our 2022 Liz Laurence Award Winner GABRIEL LONGBOTHAM on Saturday 29th July at The Cause\, Chippenham. \n“An evening of beautiful\, soulful music showcasing Devizes’ finest young talent – the incredible Gabriel Longbotham” \nGabriel is a 19 year old pianist\, organist and songwriter from Devizes. He attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is currently studying music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. He won our Liz Lawrence Award last April after wowing the judges with his talent on piano. \nAs a Wiltshire based charity\, WRM aims to provide young people with access to music without the barrier of cost. Gabriel received bursaries from WRM to assist him in his musical studies\, and\, as a result of support from this scheme\, he achieved his Grade 8. \nThe Liz Laurence Award consists of a £1\,000 prize which was presented by the Mayor of Devizes\, but also the chance to perform a one off hometown gig with the charity’s help. SUMMARY:Gospel Rocks! Chippenham’s Community Gospel Choir
DESCRIPTION:Open to all ages and all singing ability – you do not have to read music! Come along on a Thursday evening from 7:30-9pm to learn some fantastic gospel\, blues and soul songs with great tunes and beautiful harmonies. \nOur repertoire is changing and developing all the time. It currently includes O Happy Day\, Down In The River To Pray\, Trumpets\, Goodnight Sweetheart and other joyful\, fun\, soul and gospel classics. \nThe emphasis is on bringing the music to life. We move\, dance\, clap; we infuse the music with fun and laughter. We also encourage people to sing solos\, duets and in quartets and enable newcomers and beginners to find their voice and experience the joy of singing. \nEnjoy singing quick-to-learn tunes and discover the satisfaction of singing in a group! \nEach session is £8.
