DESCRIPTION:‘My favourite time of the week’ \nA chance to indulge\, draw and to practice some essential drawing skills in a beautiful environment\, guided by someone with over 25 years teaching experience. You’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. \nAll while enjoying fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. \nLife Drawing is challenging and rewarding\, but like drawing anything else\, it takes practice and patience. \nThe best way to encourage practice is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible\, we provide materials (donations welcome) This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. \nSometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing\, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. These are a great opportunity to gain confidence in composition\, materials and mark-making. \n£105 for 6 x 2 hour session term or £20 cash drop-in option (just for our life drawing sessions) \nWe look forward to meeting you soon.

You’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. \nAll while enjoying fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. \nLife Drawing is challenging and rewarding\, but like drawing anything else\, it takes practice and patience. \nThe best way to encourage practice is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible\, we provide materials (donations welcome) This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. \nSometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing\, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. DESCRIPTION:‘My favourite time of the week’ \nA chance to indulge\, draw and to practice some essential drawing skills in a beautiful environment\, guided by someone with over 25 years teaching experience. You’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. \nAll while enjoying fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. \nLife Drawing is challenging and rewarding\, but like drawing anything else\, it takes practice and patience. \nThe best way to encourage practice is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible\, we provide materials (donations welcome) This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. \nSometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing\, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. These are a great opportunity to gain confidence in composition\, materials and mark-making. \n£105 for 6 x 2 hour session term or £20 cash drop-in option (just for our life drawing sessions) \nWe look forward to meeting you soon.

DESCRIPTION:Uniquely designed and delivered 6 x 6 week courses for those with some experience or who want to extend their skills further. \nTuesdays at 12.30 – 2.30pm at the Cause Arts Centre\, Causeway Chippenham (you can find all of our locations at the bottom of our website with maps) \nTerm 1: September 16th – October 21st 2025 – Still Life (drawing)\nTerm 2: November 4th – December 9th 2025 – Objects (interiors)\nTerm 3: January 6th – February 10th 2026 – Portraits (painting)\nTerm 4: February 24th – March 31st 2026. – Interiors (drawing)\nTerm 5: April 14th – May 19th 2026 – Landscape (painting)\nTerm 6: June 2nd – July 7th 2026 – Still Life (mixed media\, collage) \nTaught by local artist and designer Charlie who has over 25 years experience teaching art in a range of settings from Further and Higher Education colleges and universities and leisure courses. \nPlease note: courses begin with drawing\, and include a talk about relevant art movements and practitioners. \n£102 per term (with an optional £10 materials donation) – 6 weeks of 2 hour sessions\, includes materials and tea/coffee (donations welcome to help with refreshment costs).

You’ll be amongst friendly faces and everyone will be in the same boat.
