Chippenham Film Club April feature – Toni Erdmann

A practical joking father tries to reconnect with his hard working daughter by creating an outrageous alter ego and posing as her CEO’s life coach.

Toni Erdmann is a 2016 German-Austrian comedy drama film directed, written and co-produced by Maren Ade.

The film, which premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, was named the best film of 2016 by Sight and Sound.

Toni Erdmann won five awards at the 2017 European Film Awards including best director, best actor and best actress and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
