Age UK Wiltshire is an independent, local charity working in the community to support older people, their families and carers. We want everyone to be able to love later life. We provide a wide variety of services to local people:
Our free Information and Advice service is available to anyone looking for information and advice about any issue relating to older people and those who care for and support them. In particular we can help with:
- Welfare benefits advice for those over retirement age
- Identifying and accessing care and support
- Housing issues and housing options
- Power of Attorney, wills and dealing with an estate
- Leisure activities, local services
- General money advice
Our Fitness & Friendship team work in the community to help older people remain independent and active. They run both online and face to face Fitness & Friendship Clubs which offer opportunities for older people to remain active whilst building social networks and having fun.
Our Telephone Befriending service can offer a free, weekly social telephone call from a friendly Age UK Wiltshire volunteer to older people who are spending long periods on their own at home or who may have caring responsibilities that isolate them from the outside world.
The Meals+ service is available for lunchtime deliveries to your home on every day of the year and has been specifically created for older people living in Wiltshire and Swindon.
