Rag and Bone Arts CIC is an inclusive, inspiring Chippenham based social enterprise started in 2011, bringing a non-commercial style of performance work and art projects to Chippenham.
We’re in our 10th year making up original performance work and creating community art projects, with the participants at the heart of our work. We take part in community events from an Elf protest, to Flash mobs and shop window mannequins. We create new twists on well known stories, from Shakespeare to Alice in Wonderland and Frankenstein.
We run weekly Youth Theatres and Art workshops for ages 5-14yr olds, Adult Drama workshops in Improvisation and devising skills, and run Chippenham Life Drawing – usually from the beautiful Cause Arts Centre.
Since Covid-19 we’ve suspended our Youth provision, but our Adult Improvisation has diversified to include writing and performing original scripts online, written by the company and us. These will be recorded and can be heard on Malmesbury Community Radio soon!
Life Drawing continues online in blocks of 6 and we’re working on the return of our Youth provision. This will be project based and delivered during the holiday weeks in future. We are still dedicated to helping people to find their Creative Giants, using their ideas to help form the work, under the keen direction and guidance from our established and experienced professionals. All have extensive experience as performers, artists, directors, choreographers and college lecturers and love passing on their joy of the arts.
We can also deliver half or whole day workshops youth groups, organisations or schools in drama or art. We work with the Youth Adventure Trust and can be booked to deliver fun and creative sessions with any age group.
