Inspired by the true story of a promising teenage dancer who enrols at a prestigious ballet school while grappling with her gender dysphoria.

Girl stars Victor Polster, in his acting debut, as a trans girl who pursues a career as a ballerina. Polster won the Cannes Un Certain Regard Jury Award for Best Performance. Girl was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
