Chippenham Harriers River & Fun Runs

A family friendly, summer evening 5k race and 2k fun run, held each year in early July in Monkton Park. This year it’s Wednesday the 3rd July.

There are two routes to choose from, namely a full 5k route and a shorter 2k route (fun run).

The 5k River Run and 2k Fun Run follow a largely traffic free multi-terrain route along the banks of the River Avon, starting and finishing in Monkton Park, near the Olympiad Leisure Centre. There is a mixture of compacted field/grass, gravel and paved road/path.

The River Run is a great community event which attracts people of all abilities and ages. The 5k distance means that it is ideal for the beginners and the inclusion of the Fun Run makes it the perfect summer evening event for families. The 5k is open to anyone aged 13 and over and the Fun Run is for 4 – 14 year olds.

Prizes in age categories for both races. All Fun Run finishers receive a medal.

Typical start times are Fun Run at 6:30pm and River Run at 7.30pm. Registration is normally 60 minutes prior to the first race (5:30pm).
