Following on from the success of last year’s showing of the film Cathy Come Home in the presence of legendary director Ken Loach, Doorway is pleased to be hosting a film night on Friday 7th March at Neeld Community and Arts Centre, where we will show Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son, directed by award-winning film director, Lorna Tucker who became homeless at 14 and spent two years living on the streets where she slept under Waterloo Bridge, in and out of sheltered accommodation.

Based on Lorna’s own experiences, the film explores how the UK can put an end to homelessness and has garnered support from people across the country including: Sam Fender and Bryan Adams, which see’s Bryan write a song, exclusive for the film.
Shelter and Crisis said: “This powerful film is a rallying call that homelessness is not inevitable, and we can end the housing emergency for good.”

Doorway provides crisis support to people at risk of or at risk of homelessness and runs groups and courses to build confidence and skills, helping people to make positive changes to their lives, however small.
