“The Festival of Christmas” is a series of events in Chippenham celebrating all things festive running from Sunday 28th November until Sunday 19th December.
The launch day takes place on Sunday 28 November, when Chippenham Town Centre will be full of fun and free entertainment between 10am – 7pm, bringing the community together safely to enjoy a range of activities including:
Lantern Making Workshops and Glitter-Glo Face Paintingat the Town Hall, 11am-4pm
Fire Performers in the Market Place, at intervals between 4pm-6pm
Festive Stilt-walkers on the High Street, at intervals between 10am-4pm
Snow Globe Photo Experience in Borough Parade, 9am-6pm
Meet Santa at the Yelde Hall, 10am-6pm (SOLD OUT)
In addition to the events above, the High Street will host a festive Artisan Market between 10am-7pm. There will be over 30 stalls to visit and enjoy across the day including artisan cider, mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts as well as, handmade gifts, and baked goods.
A small community stage will also feature in Market Place where the Christmas Tree can be found. The stage will feature a variety of local acts between 11am – 6pm including Corsham and Colerne Military Wives Choir, Chippenham’s Dancing Academy, Ministry of Samba, Rock Choir: Trowbridge, Frome, Warminster/Westbury and Chippenham, CLOGG’s Musical Theatre.
The Christmas lights will be switched on at 5pm however, to reduce the risk of mass gathering there won’t be an official countdown, or switch on this year.
