Chippenham Day Centre is a Wiltshire Council supported community day centre that meets on a weekly basis throughout the year. Meetings are held at the King Alfred Hall in Chippenham every Thursday from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Its main aims are to help those who may be at risk of reducing or losing their independence and affected by social isolation and loneliness. The Members are all over 50 years old and may have minor disabilities such as reduced mobility.
The job of Organiser is a paid appointment with the main role of the week to week running of the Day Centre, assisted by a few Volunteers. The main duties include:
- Overseeing the safe conduct of all activities within the Day Centre
- Planning and arranging the forward programme
- Coordinating the Members’ transport requirements.
Pay: contracted for 6 hours a week at £8.91/hour with training provided as necessary and reasonable expenses paid.
