Home-Start North Wiltshire empowers parents to give their children the best possible start in life.
- We offer non-judgmental support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children under 5 yrs.
- We work with families at times of difficulty to promote family resilience and improve children’s life chances.
- We train and supervise volunteers to visit families at home or support them through group work activities, working together in an informal, flexible and confidential way.
We are holding our next volunteer preparation course in Chippenham starting in October 2024. We would love to hear from you if you can spare 3-4 hours a week during office hours to support a family.

We help ordinary people who are going through extraordinary times. Being a parent has never been easy. Regardless of social standing, gender or culture, it can be lonely, frustrating, heart-breaking and overwhelming.
There is no such thing as a typical ‘Home-Start family’ and the support we offer is as individual as the families themselves.
Our aim is to provide early support to families who are facing these challenges and stresses of family life, including a wide range of difficulties such as isolation, low self-esteem, physical and mental health issues. We work alongside parents in their homes to help raise their self-confidence and their ability to cope in an increasingly pressured society. Our emphasis is on parents helping parents.
