The Local Youth Network which is a part of the Chippenham Area Board are organising a Teen Takeover, a weekend dedicated to young people from the Chippenham Area aged 13-19 and up to 24 for those with SEND needs.
With over 20 organisations involved, there will be a wide variety of activities and workshops taking place across the town covering the arts, performance, meditation, music, sports and more. This event is being used to highlight what youth provision, activities and clubs are already available in the Chippenham area, as well as adding in additional activities to really make it a great weekend.
And the best bit….it’s all free! So if you fancy trying something new and maybe discovering a new interest/hobby, now is your chance!

*Please note that that are a limited number of spaces available for some of the sessions. Teens may book onto as many free activities as they would like to attend, but be aware there maybe overlaps in the programming, so please check you can get to each activity by the scheduled start time.
Why don’t you kick off your morning of the Teen Takeover weekend with a brisk 5k?! Chippenham parkrun is a FREE weekly 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday.

A behind-the-scenes look at the History Centre, including a visit to the strongrooms housing old documents, plus hands-on activities like document handling and dating photos – get ready to explore amazing treasures from medieval to modern times!
Take part in a photography challenge, hunting around the museum for the best objects to photograph using different composition techniques. All cameras are welcome, including mobile phones. Suitable for ages 11- 17 years old.
A writer, rapper and a teacher – all at once, Christian’s interactive freestyles and improvised performances have been lauded by stars like 50 Cent and creator of the musical Hamilton. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people passionate about writing and performance – not to be missed!
Come along and try your hand at some fun games, exercises and short scenes that help you think on your feet, make things up on the spot and have a really good laugh at the same time.
If you’re a keen artist with an eye for design, come along and work with our artist Charlie on a specially created design task that will expand your horizons and expose you to the many options for artists. All abilities welcome.

As part of the Teen Takeover weekend, Chippenham Comedy Club are hosting a live stand-up show at the Reel Cinema featuring Jessie Nixon, Nate Kitch and Alice Hadland.
This FREE Climbing session is for teenagers 13+ years old with Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities (SEND)It is a special Quiet session so will be suitable for non-verbal teens and those with noise sensitivity.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for young people aged 16 to 19 who live in the Chippenham area, to learn ways to regulate their nervous system, manage their emotions and find a sense of calm and general well-being.
The “Future Sounds Of” gigs arrive in Chippenham! A new showcase event bringing the best of Wiltshire’s fresh new bands, local favourites, and young home-grown talent! A free entry show in the Neeld Foyer on Saturday 27th April as part of the Teen Takeover Weekend!
Chippenham Sports Club are hosting a Family Open Day on Sunday, 28th April featuring various activities for teens and families. Teenagers aged 13-19 and individuals aged 24 with SEND needs will receive free food vouchers redeemable at the food vendors or the club’s kitchen for options like chips, cheesy chips, hotdogs, burgers, pizza, noodles, and chicken dishes, courtesy of Wiltshire Council. Additionally, Team GB’s Ladies Hockey Captain, Hollie Pearne-Webb, will be visiting a special ‘Teen’ hockey session between 11 am and 1 pm. No booking necessary, no kit required, just turn up.
Join Open Blue with the double decker bus at Wellington Place near Hullavington to participate in fun activities both on and off the bus. Open Blue are being supported by the Army Welfare service.
