On Saturday 2nd August The Arc is hosting an Open Day combining climbing tasters, live music, outdoor activities, and great food in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Alongside it, Burt’s Fest returns to The Arc Skatepark bringing high-energy skate jam vibes – demos, competitions, live graffiti and merch stands.
The day is designed for all ages and interests whether you’re climbing, skating or spectating.
At The Arc (11am-6pm)
• Climbing tasters available for all levels – no experience required.
• Children’s play park, The Arc Park, next to the café, free to access.
• Outdoor café space with a mix of sunny and sheltered seating.
• BBQ and café specials, with options for adults, children, and dogs (including dog-friendly gelato).
• Live music throughout the day.
• Woodland Creature Sculpture Trail in Westmead Open Space and other walks nearby.
The Open Day is a chance to explore The Arc’s climbing spaces and outdoor areas in a welcoming, informal setting.
Burt’s Fest 2025
Over at The Arc Skatepark, Burt’s Boards presents Burt’s Fest – a full day of skate jams, competitions, and more.
The lineup includes:
• Skate jam and live demos
• Competition with prizes
• Graffiti walls with local artists painting live
• Pop-up Burt’s shop for skate gear and merch
• New beer launch – @brewyonder and Burt’s Boards collaboration, featuring a fresh pale ale and lager.
From 5pm, the event shifts to Cousin Norman’s, where skaters and locals can wind down over food and drinks. Verbhalkitchen will be there serving pizzas and good vibes.
Evening at The Arc
After 6pm, The Arc is keeping its doors open for a more relaxed evening programme, including:
• A climbing-themed murder mystery
• Fun bouldering challenges
• A casual community quiz
• Food and social spaces for climbers and newcomers alike
Whether you’re skating, climbing, catching up with friends, or just enjoying the scene, this Saturday offers a great chance to connect with the local community.
