Chippenham Museum is launching a new project to work with Ukrainian families, alongside a local artist, to produce a new artwork exploring Chippenham and the surrounding area as a place of refuge.
The project is inspired by the work of Belgian artist Charles Wellens and Polish artist Piotr Potworowski, who each fled conflicts in the 20th century and made their home in the area. Work by both artists is currently on display in the museum.
These sessions are free and family friendly, but booking is required.
If you would like to take part or want to find out more please contact the museum on 01249 705020 or by emailing heritage@chippenham.gov.uk. We are also hosting an Open Evening for Ukrainian families and their hosts on Thursday 19 October, where you can find out more about the museum and our Making Spaces project.
