Rag and Bone Arts CIC & Knapsack Productions are thrilled to present a dynamic series of workshops this April, funded by National Lottery and UK Government through their ‘Million Hours’ programme and designed to inspire young creatives in Chippenham. Featuring industry professionals from theatre, music, comedy, film, and visual arts, these workshops provide a unique opportunity for participants to develop their skills and explore new artistic disciplines.
Taking place at The Neeld Community Arts Centre, each workshop is led by an experienced professional, offering hands-on learning in a welcoming and supportive environment. Sessions cater to a range of interests, from stage combat and stand-up comedy to drumming and lighting design.
Director of Rag and Bone Arts, Laura Graham-May says:
“We’re excited to be working with Knapsack Productions to bring the young people of Chippenham a range of creative options for the Easter break. Thanks to the National Lottery and DCMS funding, we were able to create this brilliant lineup of industry professionals to help Chippenham’s 11-18’s explore their potential and allow them to learn from some of the best local and regional talent that exists. Each professional is hand picked by us for their experience in their field and skill at working with young people positively. We hope that they enjoy it as much as we’re going to!”.
Ruth from Knapsack Productions comments,
“I’m proud that we are offering the opportunity for young people to work with industry professionals on their doorstep, here in Chippenham. This not only gives them a window on possible careers, but with so much evidence that creativity improves mental health, it gives young people the opportunity to take a creative break. As someone who grew up in the local area, I’m immensely glad I can put something back into the community.”
