Chippenham has several active groups and organisations that are dedicated to raising awareness, providing resources and giving information related to climate and environmental issues. These include: –
Cycle Chippenham
Supported by both Wiltshire Council (who provide officer time) and Chippenham Town Council (who provide meeting space), Cycle Chippenham are a group of local cyclists who volunteer to improve the town’s cycle infrastructure. Their aim is to create a safe, joined-up network of quiet roads and segregated cycleways that enable people of all ages and abilities to choose active travel, day and night.

Chippenham Climate Emergency Advisory Group
Chippenham Town Council declared a “Climate Change Emergency” in 2019 and set up a Climate Emergency Advisory Group. Membership of the advisory group consists of six Chippenham Town Council councillors and six members of the local community who have relevant skills and experience in the subject.CEEAG meets every 6 weeks to share environmental updates from the Council and local initiatives and to discuss, research, and make recommendations on how to engage residents and help the environment in Chippenham.
