The wait is over—Chippenham Film Festival kicks off today, November 11th, with an exciting lineup of films and events ready to unfold over the next week. Hosted at the Reel Cinema, this inaugural event, organised by the Chippenham Film Club, is set to become a new cultural highlight in our community.
Tonight’s festival launch features “Her,” Spike Jonze’s thought-provoking sci-fi romance, screening at 19:30. This Oscar-winning film stars Joaquin Phoenix alongside Scarlett Johansson’s mesmerising voice performance as an AI companion, setting a brilliant tone for a week of exceptional cinema.

Festival Social Events
The festival experience extends beyond the cinema screen. Pop along to Rivo Lounge on Saturday afternoon for coffee and cake, where you can chat about your festival highlights with fellow film lovers. The week concludes with a proper celebration at the Prince of Wales pub after Sunday’s final screening – a lovely way to toast Chippenham’s first Film Festival.
