Shooting Roots: Drama workshop

Part of Chippenham Folk Festival’s youth festival, but open to all 11-17s across the area.
Folk arts specialists Shooting Roots travel folk festivals across the country, a organisation of young people working with teens to have fun together, learn new skills, explore folk arts and make new friends.
In the drama workshops, there’ll be games like Splat, Danish Clapping, Frog on a Log and Zip Zap Boing, and the chance to create and devise scenes, skits and vignettes – the zanier the better. At similar workshops at Sidmouth Folk Festival, aliens invaded and were taught to morris dance – so literally anything could happen at Chippenham.
With three workshops across the weekend, participants will work together to build an original performance to showcase on the festival’s Community Stage on Monday afternoon.
Either pay £3 on the door, or purchase a £25 youth ticket to the festival, which allows access to all Chippenham Folk Festival’s exclusive youth events for 11-17 year olds as well as the rest of the festival – all ceilidhs, dances, concerts, workshops across the weekend.
