Get Creative at Chippenham Museum
If your little ones love getting crafty, head to Chippenham Museum for some hands-on activities inspired by their latest exhibition, Spotlight On 4: Modern and Contemporary Art. Children can explore visual poetry and experiment with letters and words in a free drop-in creative session on Tuesday 18th February (10:30am – 3:30pm). For those who prefer a quieter experience, an Autism Friendly Quiet Time is available from 9:00am – 10:00am (booking required).

Take The Stage: A Battle of Young Talent
The annual Take The Stage competition is back, showcasing the best young musical acts in the area! On Friday 14th February at 7:30pm, three acts will battle it out for a place in the grand final. If you love discovering fresh new talent, this event is not to be missed! Tickets are just £5 in advance, £6 on the door.

Chippenham Library February Half-Term Events
Chippenham Library is offering a variety of events to keep children entertained during the half-term break.

Half Term Holiday Sports Coaching
In2Sport holiday clubs offer an action-packed experience for children aged 4-12, with a wide range of sports and activities. Sessions take place in a safe and engaging environment at Ivy Lane School Field.

For a musical treat , don’t miss the Free Music Train Concert at the Neeld Community & Arts Centre on Monday 17 February from 10:30am – 12:00pm. This inclusive event promises a toe-tapping experience with talented musicians ready to entertain and encourage participation!

A Hat Full of Sea
A special half-term event featuring children’s author Maudie Smith will take place at the library. 11am on 17th February
Maudie will share how the seaside and a real-life seashell story inspired her picture books. Activities include:
- Listening to the story of A Hat Full of Sea and learning how clever Cora collects the sea in her hat for her Grandpa Jim.
- Decorating a fish with unique patterns and colors before helping Maudie create a shoal of fish for Grandpa Jim.
- Bringing along a favourite hat to join in the fun—Maudie will be wearing hers!

Half-term Climbing Club 8-11 year olds
The Arc is hosting holiday climbing sessions for children aged 8-11 years. Each session includes an hour and a half of climbing and games, led by an experienced instructor.
These sessions provide young climbers with an opportunity to develop their climbing skills, work on NICAS logbooks, and engage in fun activities and games. No prior experience is required.
- Monday 17th: 11am to 12.30pm
- Friday 21st: 11am to 12.30pm
- Saturday 22nd: 9.45am to 11.15am
- Sunday 23rd: 9.45am to 11.15am

Capture the Moment: Photography Workshop for Young Carers
Young carers aged 11-16 are invited to Lacock Abbey for a Cyanotype Printing Workshop on Monday 17th February (11:00am – 1:30pm). This unique session explores eco-friendly photography, where participants can create stunning prints using sunlight! Lunch and transport from Chippenham are provided.

Half-term Climbing Club 12-15 year olds
The Arc is also offering climbing sessions for 12-15 year olds. These hour-and-a-half sessions focus on developing climbing skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Participants will have the chance to refine their technique, take part in engaging activities and games, and work towards NICAS logbook goals. No experience is necessary.

- Saturday 22nd: 11.30am to 1.00pm

Paint-Along Class: A Splash of Fun!
Budding artists aged 7-11 can join a Half-Term Paint-Along Class at Sheldon Road Church on Tuesday 18th February (9:00am – 11:00am). With step-by-step guidance, kids will create a surprise animal painting to take home! Limited spaces available (£20 per child, all supplies included).

Let’s Dance!
Let’s Dance! is a Music for Miniatures event, taking place at Neeld Arts Centre on Tuesday 18th February at 10.30am.
This interactive performance explores dance music through the centuries, featuring professional musicians playing the flute, oboe, and piano. From graceful Gavottes to toe-tapping Tangos, this event brings music to life in an engaging and lively way.
Children are encouraged to respond naturally—whether by dancing, listening, or simply relaxing. The event offers a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to live music in a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
