Following a highly anticipated competition that began in February, The Deep End have been announced as the winners of Take the Stage 2026 final.
The grand finale, held at the Neeld Community and Arts Centre in Chippenham, drew a capacity crowd of over 200 music fans, who gathered to watch the four remaining finalists compete for the top spot. The finalists were The Deep End, Paris Blue, Plugin, and Red Acrobat. The competition began with a large pool of local talent and was narrowed down through three competitive heats over the spring until the final.

The final vote was one of the closest in the competition’s history, reflecting the high calibre of the performing bands. In the end, The Deep End, a four-piece group from Stroud, secured the majority of the audience votes to take the win. The main prize includes a performance slot at LAKEFEST on Thursday 6th August 2026.
The event highlighted the strength of the local music scene, with strong community support throughout the evening. The Deep End’s performance stood out on the night, earning them the top position in a tightly contested final.
About Riverbank Studios
Riverbank Studios is a youth-focused, community-based music project established in 2014 in Chippenham, Wiltshire. It provides accessible recording and rehearsal spaces alongside live music events, supporting young creatives across a range of disciplines including music, film, and photography.
The project offers a variety of regular activities, including youth gigs, rehearsal opportunities, and weekly sessions. These include a youth café with open mic and karaoke nights, monthly live music events for teenagers, and informal creative meet-ups during term time. Riverbank Studios aims to create an inclusive, supportive space where young people can collaborate, develop their skills, and bring creative ideas to life.
